Part of maintaining your independence at home is being prepared for unforeseen incidents and emergencies that may occur. Our Personal Emergency Response System (PERS) provides an in-home 24 hour a day electronic support system with two-way verbal and electronic communication with an emergency control and response which enables an elderly homebound person to secure immediate help in the event of a physical, emotional, or environmental crisis. To ensure quality performance our system is monitored in the home at least once a month in person by one of our case managers.
HOW IT WORKS
Our PERS system is comprised of a two-way voice console unit that connects to your existing phone line and a lightweight, personal activator that stays with you, privately, around your neck or wrist. If you need assistance or are concerned about your safety, just press the button and the PERS unit dials the toll free number and opens a two-way voice connection between you and the operator. Even if you are unable to speak, our operators know who you are, where you live and who to contact from the information you submitted when you enrolled.

Individuals eligible for the Elderchoices (Medicaid Waiver) program may receive ths service at no cost to them. PERS is also available on a private pay basis at $35.00 a month with a $30.00 installation fee.
